About Us

Fischer Kunsthandel & Edition was founded by Werner Fischer in Berlin in 1992. Since 1998 the gallery has been located in larger rooms at Xantenerstr. 20, 10707 Berlin-Wilmersdorf – not far from the Ku’damm.

From the very beginning, the activities and the exhibition program have concentrated on figurative painting and sculpture from Expressionism to the present day.

Since the mid-1990s, the gallery’s work has focused on New Objectivity and the artists of the lost generation. Special attention is paid to the promotion and presentation of the works of Elfriede Lohse-Wächtler, Curt Querner, Grete Schick and Theodor Rosenhauer.

The gallery’s commitment here is directed towards making these artists known and establishing them in the environment of well-known masters such as Otto Dix, Conrad Felixmüller and Ernst Barlach.

Within this framework, the gallery initiates and supervises exhibitions in museums and art associations.

Furthermore, the gallery regularly shows new works by young artists from the gallery program. The gallery sees the cooperation and support of young art as an “investment in the future” that needs to be promoted.
